4" Blue Oil fern (Microsorum thailandicum)

$19.99 $29.99

This fantastic fern, native to parts of Southeast Asia, is a true show stopper.  Blue Oil fern sports elongated leaves with a slight blue shimmer.  This coloring came about to allow the fern to capture more light in lower light environments.

Blue Oil fern is epiphytic so it should be grown in a semi-chunky mix that allows the roots to breath but retains ample moisture as to not allow the roots to dry out completely.  We recommend growing this plant in a terrarium but with the right care it can be grown as an indoor plant.

Blue Oil fern care:

This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter.  Ensure that the soil always remains moist as allowing the plant to dry out for too long can cause the roots to dry out quickly.  Provide your fern with medium to bright indirect light.  Humidity above 50% is required for this plant.

Blue-ti-full!

I bought this as a gift. I received a full, healthy plant showing off some blue. I own one, and in my experience, it doesn’t need lots of extra humidity and it does well under grow lights (more vs less light). This plant has made me a fern fan! It is a slow grower, so I loved that I received a nice sized plant. Thank you! 💙💚
