4” Alocasia Frydek variegated

$79.99
Care

 Bright indirect light

Water when soil is mostly dry

 Loves humidity

Alocasia Frydek is a stunning variegated elephant ear variety.  This is the variegated form of the more common Alocasia micholitziana.  The leaves are green with white contrasting veins and random spots of variegation throughout.

Alocasia Frydek tends to stay more compact when grown as an indoor plant.  However, if grown outside this plant will grow large leaves and can reach heights of up to 5'!
Caring for your new Alocasia Frydek is simple.  Alocasia prefer a well draining soil rich in organic matter.  Allow your Alocasia to dry out slightly between watering.  Bright indirect light is preferred, but they will also grow nicely under lower light.

Additional information:

Alocasia is a genus of plants in the Aroid family native to many parts of Asia including but not limited to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia.

There are at least 90 officially recognized Alocasia species, with more discovered and properly named every year. Alocasia come in all sizes, from small to large. Jewel types like Black Velvet tend to stay on the bushier, more compact side.

Alocasia are rhizomatous or tuberous and self reproduce from corms.

Alocasia can go dormant during the cooler months, so try to provide your plant with temperatures above 50deg to ensure that they stay happy and healthy during this period.

Gorgeousss

This beauty arrived happy and healthy, with a new leaf on the way. The 2 existing leaves (lost a few young leaves in transit) weren't super variegated, but the new leaf its highly variegated and stunningly beautiful. Canopy has become my new go-to online plant shop. Thank you <3

Absolutely beautiful

Frieda is doing marvelous. Has been repotted in pon and a self watering set up. She just opened up her first new leaf. The one in middle, still needs to unfurl the top part. She also has what I think is a corm sprouting below the leaves. Love her so much.

Beautiful!

What a stunner! She came packed with the utmost care and showed no damage even though the box was beat-up. Her foliage was a little down-turned from the packing surrounding her, but perked right back up in a few hours. Super-happy with my purchase.

Arrived yesterday

Packaged beautifully. Putting out a new leaf, picture added to add expectations of variegation variations you might receive.
