This tropical epiphytic fern, native to parts of Southeast Asia and Australia, is a true show stopper. Huperzia squarrosa aka "Tassel Fern" grows long, needle-like, elongated chains of leaves.
Huperzia squarrosa is epiphytic so it should be grown in a semi-chunky mix that allows the roots to breath but retains ample moisture as to not allow the roots to dry out completely.
We recommend growing this plant in a terrarium but with the right care it can be grown as an indoor plant.
Huperzia squarrosa care:
This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Ensure that the soil always remains moist as allowing the plant to dry out for too long can cause the roots to dry out quickly. Provide your fern with medium to bright indirect light. Humidity above 50% is required for this plant.
