Some Hoyas do need more water than others. Most Hoya plants do best in warm temperatures (60-90deg) but all are well suited as indoor plants. Hoya vangviengiensis is an unusual species of Hoya found in areas of China and Laos. This particular Hoya plant is found growing epiphytically in relatively cooler, damp and humid conditions, which makes it a perfect candidate as an indoor plant. Since this plant enjoys slightly cooler temperatures, you'll have no problem growing it inside of your home.
Hoya vangviengiensis care:
This Hoya plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering your Hoya plant, taking care to not allow your new Hoya to sit in excess water for an extended period. The plant was in great shape with good growth and healthy leaves, but the roots on some cuttings were less developed and didn’t hold each cutting in the soil during transit. It was an easy fix to add a little more soil and get them resettled. They’re thriving now a few weeks later.
