3" Ludisia discolor 'Black Jewel Orchid'

Ludisia discolor, also known as 'Black Jewel Orchid' is mainly grown for its attractive foliage and not for its flowers (white are white) like most other orchids.  This particular orchid has a terrestrial growth habit, growing along the top of the soil and is not epiphytic.

While this plant grows just fine as an indoor plant, Ludisia discolor grows more vigorously in a terrarium or other high humidity environment.

Ludisia discolor care:

Keep the soil consistently moist, but take care not to over water as they don't like to sit in excess water.  To keep the leaves the rich black color, provide your plant with low to medium indirect light.

I have been wanting this plant for a while. Thanks for offering it. My plant arrived in great condition, packaged well. I love the leaf color and design. I hope it continues to do well in my home. I am happy with my purchase!

Disappointment

I was very disappointed with my Ludisia discolor plant being out of the pot when it arrived. I had to go 22 miles out of town to buy terrestrial potting soil. If you sold plants that were established in the pot it would be a lot harder for them to come out of the pot during shipping. Costumer service dismissed my dissatisfaction with the improper handling of my order.
