Adelonema Red Velvet is a rare and striking aroid that is native to Colombian rainforests. This plant has pillowy leaves with a red mid rib.
We highly recommend this plant for terrariums or self watering pots as this plant prefers to remain moist at all times.
Adelonema Red Velvet care:
This striking indoor plant prefers a medium that can retain some moisture but also can allow the roots to breathe. We recommend that you do not allow your plant to dry out completely as it can damage the foliage. Provide your Adelonema Red Velvet with average or higher than average humidity and medium to bright indirect light
I love this plant and it is growing well. It has a very high humidity need. I have a very humid environment and I do need to keep this in front of the humidifier. The soil needs to be moist but not soggy. When it was putting out a new leaf I did need to mist it for the leaf to be able to unfurl. But it has been growing beautifully and if you are willing to give it the conditions it needs.
