Hoya Sunrise is a hybrid of Hoya lacunosa ssp. pallidiflora and Hoya obscura.
In order to get the flushing red ("sun stress") from this Hoya species they need to be sun stressed. Sun stressing a Hoya is quite easy, simply place it in very bright indirect light!
Commonly known as Wax Plant, Hoyas are easy to grow indoor vining plants that produce beautiful blooms.
Hoya Sunrise care:
Let the soil dry out between watering, taking care not to allow them to sit in water. Make sure to give your new Hoya plenty of bright indirect light.
Additional Hoya information:
Hoya, commonly referred to as "Wax Plant" is a genus consisting of over 500 species.
Hoyas are widely cultivated for their aromatic blooms and unique foliage.
They are native to tropical and subtropical areas all around the world. They can be found in Latin America, Asia, Australia, etc.
Mostly epiphytic, you'll find Hoyas love to climb trees in their natural habitats.
Hoyas have a large range of foliage shapes and textures. They can be found with elongated, deeply veined leaves to thin, narrow leaves and everything in between.
Most Hoya plants can be considered easy to care for. Here at Canopy Plant Co., we only ship the healthiest Hoyas from our Apopka greenhouse.
Sizing information:
Plants are living organisms, so each one is unique and may vary slightly in size, fullness, color, and maturity depending on the season, growing conditions, and current availability. We do our best to match the product photos and descriptions as closely as possible while ensuring you receive a healthy, high-quality plant.
Healthy, beautiful, fast delivery, size is larger than I thought it would be
My Hoya Sunrise arrived in perfect condition ( no dead or broken leaves). It's beautiful and healthy!
Great Quality Plant. Arrived quickly and in great health. Plenty of plant for a 4" pot as well!

Such a cute small full plant, excited to see this one sun stress!
Lush, gorgeous plant! Always please with Canopy Plant Co!
I’ve been wanting a Hoya Sunrise for a long time. I’m glad I ordered from Canopy Plants. It’s a nice healthy plant and can’t wait for it to sun stress.
My plant arrived in great time and looks fabulous.
Received my Sunrise Hoya very quickly and it looks absolutely beautiful!! Would most definitely purchase again and 5 stars are not enough!!
Thank you so much!! We’re thrilled you love your Sunrise Hoya — your kind words mean the world to us! Can’t wait to send more plant happiness your way! 😊✨
Excited to watch this one grow - came to me a little sparser than expected but very healthy. Had to repot after two weeks of acclimating cause the soil was staying quite wet - but it’s putting out new leaves and seems happy. Excited to see it grow and sun stress! Forgot to take a pic when I first got it but here it is around a month later!
Thank you so much for the update!
Even if it arrived a bit sparse, it sounds like it’s thriving in your care—and those new leaves are a great sign!
We’re excited to see how it continues to grow and sun stress too—thanks for giving it such a great home!
Beautiful plants, fast turnaround time on orders, customer service actually responds to you and answers questions. Will be buying more! So in love with my spiritus sancti, billietiae, and hoya sunrise 😍

Beautiful, healthy plant, so cute, love her💚🌱💚
Really nice plant! Really pleased with purchase and will definitely be ordering again.
This variety has been hard to find in my area, so I was really happy to see Canopy offer this AND at a reasonable price! Shipping was fast and the plant arrived in great shape. Will definitely be ordering again!
This hoya was specifically added to my collection due to the red sunstressing of the leaves that occur when exposed to bring g healthy indirect light. I'm anxious for next summer do I can put it outside.
Beautifully packed, delovery very fast, beautiful full lovely plant
Hoya was super healthy in great condition. Very happy with purchase
Came in beautiful and big with some sun stress going already! Super happy with my purchase!
I put it on trellis after a week after delivery. It’s been about a month it’s sun stressing beautifully, looking blushed right now and it’s already sending up runners up the trellis!
Thank you so much for the update! We are thrilled to hear that this beauty is thriving in its new home. Enjoy watching your Hoya continue to grow and thrive

This is a lovely little Hoya. I can’t wait until it starts to get sun stressed and gets some bright colors. I like it so much that I ordered a second one! ☺️
