Care

 Bright indirect light

Water when top 1-2" of soil is dry

Philodendron warszewicsii is an extremely unique indoor tropical plant, with it's large deeply split leaves.  The foliage on this species gets extremely lacey and will stand out in any indoor or outdoor setting.

Philodendron warszewicsii prefers a coco pole or other support structure to climb.  As it climbs higher the leaves will get larger in size.

Philodendron warszewicsii care:

This plant prefers a very well draining soil that is rich in organic matter.  Allow this plant to dry out completely between watering, taking care to not allow this plant to sit in excess water.  We highly recommend allowing this plant to completely dry out as they are very susceptible to overwatering.  Provide your plant with plenty of bright indirect light.

Additional info:

Philodendron is one of the most popular genuses of Aroid that are currently in cultivation, with over 450 named cultivars.

Philodendron vary greatly in their natural habits, but you will find a large number of them located in Latin America. Their leaves range from small to medium to large to gigantic! You'll find Philodendron with smooth, glossy foliage and some with velvety foliage!

If you allow Philodendron to climb, their foliage will usually get much larger the higher up they get. While this isn't true for all Philodendron species -- it is for most. We recommend a coco pole to really get your Philodendron growing!

For the most part, Philodendron are easy to care for.

The name Philodendron comes from the greek words "philo" (love or affection) and "dendron" (tree).

Beautiful Plant But..

Was very excited for this one.. came looking rough (understandably). It was packaged very well and no visible damage to the leaves but as time went on this plant was looking worse and worse. I put the plant in a spot with bright indirect light with 50-75% humidity, which all the other plants I ordered bounced back wonderfully after the shipping shock expect for this one… I contacted Canopy’s Customer Service and was told that this plant is sensitive and to give it some time, so I did… And then it died, I checked the “root ball” and it was clear this plant had root rot by the awful smell and the dark roots shredding off. I did not repot this plant, as they’ve instructed. And I also did not water this plant for the small amount of time I had it since the soil remained soggy… I’ve ordered many other plants from them and all have been wonderful and no big problems like this one.

Delicate neon plant

The leaves are so soft and fragile feeling! It was packaged up nice and securely, so no damage that I could see! I love it! Here’s a picture from the day after unboxing.

Philip warszewicsii aurea

Very nice big plant. I've put it on a shelf under a grow light and it seems to like it there. I know these don't like wet roots so hoping to keep it happy. 🙃
