Allow soil to dry almost completely between watering
Monstera Mint is a highly sought after variegated form of Monstera deliciosa. This particular cultivar grows highly speckled white leaves. A slow grower, but very easy to care for.
Monstera Mint care:
This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your Monstera deliciosa variegated plant with plenty of bright indirect light.
Additional information:
Monstera, also referred to as "Swiss Cheese Plant", are a type of aroid native to many different countries in Latin America. Monstera can be found growing in its natural habitat in Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, etc.
In the wild, Monstera have a variety of growth habits. They can climb or spread as ground cover. If they are allowed to climb, Monstera leaves will become much larger and begin to fenestrate. They are semi-epiphytic.
Monstera can grow in low indirect light but prefer medium to bright indirect light. If grown in low light conditions their growth will slow.
They tend to be easy to care for and make a great addition to any houseplant collection.
I so want to love this plant, but she’s just not quite “it”. The large leaves are almost all green with a very minor amount of variegation with the new leaf coming in having a lighter, minty color. It’s much different than any other mint I’ve seen or purchased. For reference, I’ve placed the 3” Mint I purchased here in November in the photo. It’s the smaller plant, highly variegated leaves (very slow growing).
I must have close to 50 Canopy plants in my collection and will no doubt have more! Canopy continues to be one of my favorite nurseries. The large mint was my first purchase I wasn’t in love with. Yours might be different!
