Alocasia Ninja is an Alocasia reginula 'Black Velvet' mutation with round, darker leaves and distinct white veining. This elephant ear variety will not grow much larger than 2-3' tall.
We can't seem to get enough of Alocasia Ninja, as their foliage is so mesmerizing!
This would be a great addition to any Alocasia or elephant ear collection, as these are fairly uncommon.
Alocasia prefer a well draining soil rich in organic matter. Allow your plant to dry out slightly between watering.
Additional information:
Alocasia is a genus of plants in the Aroid family native to many parts of Asia including but not limited to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia.
There are at least 90 officially recognized Alocasia species, with more discovered and properly named every year. Alocasia come in all sizes, from small to large. Jewel types like Black Velvet tend to stay on the bushier, more compact side.
Alocasia are rhizomatous or tuberous and self reproduce from corms.
Alocasia can go dormant during the cooler months, so try to provide your plant with temperatures above 50deg to ensure that they stay happy and healthy during this period.

My ninja arrived in incredible condition and was packaged exceptionally well. The plant is so beautiful and velvety!
The package arrived and upon opening, she looked like she was going through something. Some browning along the leaves and some of the leaves are light ( not sure if this is normal or not) but it's strong and we are hoping for a bounce back. Still happy with the purchase.

The leaves on the ninja are so lovely. There was a bit if leaf damage on one of the leaves in transit, but the plant grew a new leaf shortly after receiving this a few weeks ago and it looks amazing!
