Ficus benjamina 'El Dorado', commonly referred to as a "Weeping Fig", is a show stopper with its small, white and green variegated leaves.
These plants make great indoor statement pieces due to their easy care requirements. You can expect your plant to grow about 1-2' per growing season, with the proper care.
Ficus benjamina 'El Dorado' care:
This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow your Ficus to dry out almost completely before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your new Ficus benjamina with plenty of bright indirect light. When finding a suitable home for your Ficus, make sure to not put it near any drafts as this can cause it to drop leaves.
Additional information:
Ficus, commonly referred to as a "Fig" or "Rubber tree", is a large genus of plants that number over 800 different species. They are found on almost every continent and range from tropical to semi-temperate climate zones.
Ficus generally grow as shrubs and trees but some also grow as vines and epiphytes.
The more traditional Ficus that are commonly cultivated as house plants are the Elastica species, like Tineke and Ruby.
Most Ficus prefer to dry out between watering. They prefer bright indirect light and some species thrive in direct sun.
