Philodendron billietiae is a very popular and highly sought after climbing Philodendron species. This plant is known for its unique orange petioles and long green foliage.
Philodendron billietiae loves to climb and will do so vigorously! Make sure to grab a coco pole or provide it with a support structure of your choice! If this plant is not allowed to climb, the leaves will stay on the smaller side until it finds something to attach to.
Philodendron billietiae care:
This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow your plant to dry out about 3/4 of the way before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide it with bright indirect light.

Philodendron is one of the most popular genuses of Aroid that are currently in cultivation, with over 450 named cultivars.
Philodendron vary greatly in their natural habits, but you will find a large number of them located in Latin America. Their leaves range from small to medium to large to gigantic! You'll find Philodendron with smooth, glossy foliage and some with velvety foliage!
If you allow Philodendron to climb, their foliage will usually get much larger the higher up they get. While this isn't true for all Philodendron species -- it is for most. We recommend a coco pole to really get your Philodendron growing!
For the most part, Philodendron are easy to care for.

My Philodendron billietiae was perfectly packed and arrived in great condition, even in the harsh New York winter. The size of this plant was bigger than I expected! It has been about a month and a half since it arrived, and it’s already pushing out a new leaf now that the weather has warmed up a bit. I am absolutely in love with this beauty. The pictures are taken six weeks apart: the first is from delivery day, and the one in the black pot is from yesterday (apologies for taking pictures in the evening). Order came in with everything in great shape healthy with the exception of one the dirt out of but I think that was FedEx fault. This plant has been on my wishlist for a while. It’s such a stunning plant and even more so in person! I low-key thought the leaves would be slightly bigger based on pictures. But maybe it’s a perception thing.. however there is new growth so that’s exciting!
I expected a small plant. This was a wishlist plant for me. My God it did not disappoint. Big beautiful leaves, full plant and so healthy. The leaves had some crispy edges but minor. The packaging was amazing. His name is Telemachus, a king in his own right. And is growing beautifully an is about to push out.

Arrives quickly and in good shape. One leaf was a little damaged, but I feel that's to be expected with large leaves like this (and so many leaves, it was surprisingly large!) Additionally, since receiving it's been working on a new leaf :D
