Philodendron Dark Lord is an indoor houseplant that stands apart from the rest. Its unique elongated heart shaped foliage is dark green with a stunning hue of purple and burgundy. With proper care, this exotic houseplant can thrive and add a beautiful pop of color to your living spaces.
Philodendron Dark Lord prefers a coco pole or other support structure. As this plant climbs higher the leaves will grow larger and become a true sight to behold!
This is the true 'Dark Lord', not the plant originating in Indonesia with the same name!
Philodendron Dark Lord care:
This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your plant with bright indirect light.

Philodendron is one of the most popular genuses of Aroid that are currently in cultivation, with over 450 named cultivars.
Philodendron vary greatly in their natural habits, but you will find a large number of them located in Latin America. Their leaves range from small to medium to large to gigantic! You'll find Philodendron with smooth, glossy foliage and some with velvety foliage!
If you allow Philodendron to climb, their foliage will usually get much larger the higher up they get. While this isn't true for all Philodendron species -- it is for most. We recommend a coco pole to really get your Philodendron growing!
For the most part, Philodendron are easy to care for.
The name Philodendron comes from the greek words "philo" (love or affection) and "dendron" (tree).

Usually when the description says, plant is in 4 or 6 inch pot, one thinks it's average or smaller than the description. However, it's funny that I wanted to get a mature plant vs the special care nursery plants that I have previously purchased, and this Dark Lord is a mini tree... the box was so big I opened it as soon as I came home after 8pm at night. I'm star struck. That's what I love about Canopy Plants. The pot may state one size but the actual plant is larger, fuller and better than expected. I wasn't prepared so the Dark Lord spent a night or 2 in my tub
This plant is bigger than I expected and I love it! Absolutely gorgeous plant! I’m super excited to have this guy in my collection!! Love the dark leaf on it! Pictures don’t do it justice as he was very well packaged and he just needs some time to unfold. Highly recommend this beautiful plant!!
Huge stunning absolutely blew me away.. Already has 4 new baby leaves.. I'm on the road or I'd show you a picture.. I was a bit alarmed by the condition of the box and a couple of the leaves were bent and broken but overall he's got good bones and it wasn't canopies fault it was UPS's fault so I'm super happy discovered the Four Leaves this morning before I got on the road.. and if it hadn't been for y'all packaging him so well he probably would have been damaged really bad
My Dark Lord is doing amazing. Already putting out new growth. He arrived well do to the great packaging at Canopy.
