Rhaphidophora decursiva variegated is a tropical plant species native to Southeast Asia. It's a climbing vine belonging to the Araceae family, known for its attractive variegated foliage and aerial roots. The leaves are glossy and deeply lobed with prominent veins, making them popular in indoor gardens and as houseplants in areas with suitable climates. This plant thrives in humid environments with indirect light and well-draining soil. It's often used for ornamental purposes, adorning trellises or cascading from hanging baskets.
Rhaphidophora decursiva variegated care:
This plant enjoys a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your new Rhaphidophora decursiva variegated with plenty of bright indirect light.
Additional information:
Rhaphidophora, also referred to as "Dragon Tail" or "Monstera Ginny", are a type of aroid native to many different countries in Africa and the Western Pacific. Rhaphidophora can be found growing in its natural habitat in Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.
In the wild, Rhaphidophora have a variety of growth habits. They can climb or spread as ground cover. If they are allowed to climb, Rhaphidophora leaves will become much larger and begin to fenestrate. They are semi-epiphytic. If they are not allowed to climb, some species of Rhaphidophora (Decursiva) will send out long leafless runners while they search for something to climb.
Rhaphidophora can grow in low indirect light but prefer medium to bright indirect light. If grown in low light conditions their growth will slow.
They tend to be easy to care for and make a great addition to any houseplant collection.
Unfortunately I received a Rhaphidophora decursiva that was totally reverted. It looks nothing like the one advertised above, or the ones photographed in the other reviews.
The positive was that it had 5 healthy leaves, the negative was that the 4 newest leaves were totally green and there was no indication of variegation past the initial leaf. The stem was even solid green which doesn’t provide much hope that this will eventually regain variegation.
On top of this, it’s a mid cutting, which is again different from what’s advertised above. Being a mid cutting, I guess I’m supposed to hope and pray that this reshoots but even then there’s no variegation.
Due to the fact that Canopy doesn’t offer returns or exchanges, there was no help offered by Canopy’s customer service. This was obviously disappointing given I paid for a variegated Rhaphidophora decursiva and ended up with a non-variegated version that I could have bought at my local grocery store for 1/6 of the cost.
I really regret not buying this locally and wouldn’t recommend buying this from Canopy.
