Anthurium 'Delta Force' was discovered in the 1990's by Steve Nock of Ree Gardens in Miami, Florida. This cultivar is a hybrid of Anthurium clarinervium and Anthurium pedatoradiatum and was selected for its unique triangular (deltoid) leaf shape. In the past, you were only able to obtain these by division from one of the original plants. Now, due to the wonders of tissue culture, this plant can be had at a much more affordable price!
Anthurium 'Delta Force' care:
We recommend a well draining soil for your Anthurium that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out about half way before watering, taking care to not allow your plant to sit in excess water for an extended period of time. Provide your Anthurium 'Delta Force' with plenty of bright indirect light and average household humidity.
Additional info:
Anthurium is a large genus of ornamental, mostly epiphytic plants. Some species of Anthurium do have a terrestrial growth habit.
Anthurium are native to tropical areas of Latin America. They grow in a wide variety of climates, ranging from lowland to higher elevations. Certain species need high humidity, while others will grow just fine in ambient household humidity.
Their foliage varies greatly, with some having thick corrugated textures and others with velvety textures.
Anthurium prefer a well draining soil, rich in organic matter.
They are prized for their ease of care and their sometimes showy, colorful flowers.
Anthurium can thrive in lower light but grow faster in brighter indirect light.
