Alocasia melo is a truly unique type of elephant ear that has extremely corrugated green and silver leaves. Their leaf texture is out of this world!
This particular Alocasia is a dwarf, or jewel variety, meaning it will only reach a maximum height of about 2'. This makes it perfect as an indoor plant.
Alocasia melo prefer to stay on the dryer side, so make sure to allow your plant to completely dry out between watering.

So disappointing
I never had an issue ordering from this company, and had recommended them to a few people, so when I placed my order I was very excited to receive it quicker than I expected. I ordered the melo plus three other plants and to my surprise they did not come in good shape. Every leaf on the melo was wilted or dried out and eventually I had to cut the entire plant back with hopes that it’ll bloom back. I contact them and they told me that they couldn’t give me a full refund because I didn’t purchase a protection plan but I’m thankful they gave me partial credit. I’m just not sure if I’ll be placing an order again with them.

Just getting into alocasias and anthuriums because I like to cause myself stress, but Canopy always comes in clutch with the perfect plants! I know without a doubt that if they die, it’s my fault, not theirs 😂
