Alocasia Zebrina is a unique plant that commands attention with its incredible variegated stems. The leaves on this elephant ear species are arrow shaped with a thick, glossy texture.
These plants can grow up to 6' tall!
Alocasia Zebrina care:
Caring for your new Alocasia is easy as this one only needs minimal attention. Make sure your plant has a well draining soil rich in organic matter. Alocasia Zebrina need to dry out between watering.
Additional information:
Alocasia is a genus of plants in the Aroid family native to many parts of Asia including but not limited to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia.
There are at least 90 officially recognized Alocasia species, with more discovered and properly named every year. Alocasia come in all sizes, from small to large. Jewel types like Black Velvet tend to stay on the bushier, more compact side.
Alocasia are rhizomatous or tuberous and self reproduce from corms.
Alocasia can go dormant during the cooler months, so try to provide your plant with temperatures above 50deg to ensure that they stay happy and healthy during this period.

I decided to try this plant again since learning more about Alocasia care. I’m so glad I did as I love the look of this plant. Canopy Plant co does a great job with packaging to protect the plant which shows as there was no damage or leaf casualties when it arrived. Their plants are also really healthy as it has been acclimating and has held on to all of its leaves so far without any yellowing. Huge plus with the change in light length and temperatures here in the MidWest region. With support from the grow light the leaves have sorted themselves out nicely.
My Zabrina is Very Healthy and was packaged Very Good. I’m happy I received my plant fast. I might buy another one I would Love a bigger size too.
It threw a tiny bit of a temper tantrum after being shipped but after a few days perked right up. I can't wait till you get the variegated zebrina someday. My only regret is I should have gotten two. What a beautiful plant. She towers over the other beautiful plants that came in from canopy.

I purchased 2 and they are beautiful and both doing well, exceeded my expectations.
I've been on the hunt for a Zebrina for months and this little starter plant has been so worth it. It arrived with 5 leaves: 3 very small and two larger ones. After two weeks, it is giving me a new leaf but two of the smaller leaves are on their way out. It was well packaged but it did ship with a heating pad over the winter so it may be just that. Fingers crossed
