4" Ludisia discolor 'Black Jewel Orchid'

It arrived with flowers which was nice but comparing it to my first order of the ludisia jewel I found it to be quite small. In fact, I’m crossing my fingers because I needed to repot it as there was very little soil in it and its root system was almost non existent. I am enjoying the first plant though and it’s beautiful leaves.

This is a beautiful plant. The leaves look like velvet. It has really grown a lot. This is a good investment ladies.

The plant had quite a bit of water spots. It took some time & TLC to get majority of them removed, but worth the extra care. The leaves have a very nice velvety shimmer when the light shines on them & I love the deep red that contrast beautifully underneath. Besides the water spots, the plant is very healthy & you could tell Canopy takes really good care of their plants. I actually picked up my plant & got to talk to Kevin, who is very knowledgeable & answered whatever plant questions I had while I was there. Wish I can attend their upcoming open house, but I'll definitely will be getting my plants from them from now on.

This plant ended up being a gift for a friend because I chose to be blind and not read the kind of plant I was purchasing. But overall it has survived beautifully and was even putting out a new shoot! It is very happy and BEAUTIFUL

Wow, this isn’t my first time ordering from Canopy and it won’t be my last. I have never been disappointed, I ordered 4 of these, 2 for me and 2 for a gift for a friend. I live in MA so this time of the year the weather is awful. There was ZERO stress on any of the plants in my order. I’m not an orchid person but I feel in love with these about a year ago at a flower shows and I’ve been looking to buy some since. I’m glad I held out because these are just breathtaking.

This was my first time seeing this plant and it caught my eyes as soon as I saw it on the website. It's absolutely beautiful and I love the color pattern. There were a few water spot on the plant, but it didn't bother me too much.

Not one leaf scuffed or one stem uprooted. Seems to be acclimating to my house nicely.
