Michaelmoelleria vietnamensis is the only plant in the new genus Michaelmoelleria. This plant was recently described in 2020, so there may still be more species that are discovered in this new genus!
Michaelmoelleria vietnamensis is in the Gesneriad family, which includes other plants like African Violets and Especia.
This particular plant is only found in Vietnam. It has beautiful silver variegated and green oblong leaves. The flowers are a marvel and are light blue to deep purple.
Caring for your Michaelmoelleria vietnamensis is fairly simple. They require a consistently moist medium that is also well draining. Allow your plant to slightly dry out between waterings. Do not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your plant with medium to bright indirect light.
