4" Philodendron Sun Red

 Bright indirect light

Water when top 1-2" of soil is dry

This plant is currently out of stock.

Philodendron Sun Red gets its name from their show stopping bright red emergent leaves.  The new leaves eventually fade to green.

This particular easy care Philodendron plant has the same self heading growth habit as Philodendron McColley's Finale and Philodendron Prince of Orange.

Philodendron Sun Red is well suited as an indoor plant because it stays on the more compact side.

Caring for your new Philodendron is very simple.  Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between watering.  Provide your plant with bright indirect light.

Additional info:

Philodendron is one of the most popular genuses of Aroid that are currently in cultivation, with over 450 named cultivars.

Philodendron vary greatly in their natural habits, but you will find a large number of them located in Latin America. Their leaves range from small to medium to large to gigantic! You'll find Philodendron with smooth, glossy foliage and some with velvety foliage!

If you allow Philodendron to climb, their foliage will usually get much larger the higher up they get. While this isn't true for all Philodendron species -- it is for most. We recommend a coco pole to really get your Philodendron growing!

For the most part, Philodendron are easy to care for.

The name Philodendron comes from the greek words "philo" (love or affection) and "dendron" (tree).

Sun red

I have a philodendron Sun red already but it's just not growing and taking off I bought it as a very small plant and it just hasn't progressed at all I've got it in Great soil and steroid mix it's just not wanting to do anything for me so I put it outside in the hopes that maybe the humidity thank God for that in Louisiana would help stimulate it some and it has put out a new Leaf but it's just not as large as I had hoped so while I was here at canopy looking around I happen to notice that they had some so I ordered me a second one cuz it was a great price absolutely beautiful largely leaves one is the gorgeous Orange very very well packaged that's the one thing that impresses me so the plants are fantastic but the packaging is above and beyond nothing is going to get damaged nothing and each plant if you order multiple ones are each packaged individually and very very secure and a lovely box of peanuts nothing is going to happen to your plant super happy with all of my purchases and currently have two plants waiting in my cart just got to get a Payday under my belt 😆.. I learned about canopy plants from a YouTube channel called patidendron absolutely love Patrick watch everything he does and when he came to New Orleans and found canopy plants I was over the moon I had no clue that we had a rare plant company in my state I haven't made a trip down yet but that is on my to-do list super happy you definitely should buy a couple plants from canopy I even turned my best friend Chad on to them we have yet to get a plant that is a dud
