Hoya imbricata is actually a shingling plant! They prefer to attach to a flat surface. While grown in a hanging basket, they would prefer to attach to something!
Hoya imbricata care:
This Hoya prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your new Hoya plant with plenty of bright indirect light.

Hoya, commonly referred to as "Wax Plant" is a genus consisting of over 500 species.
Hoyas are widely cultivated for their aromatic blooms and unique foliage.
They are native to tropical and subtropical areas all around the world. They can be found in Latin America, Asia, Australia, etc.
Mostly epiphytic, you'll find Hoyas love to climb trees in their natural habitats.
Hoyas have a large range of foliage shapes and textures. They can be found with elongated, deeply veined leaves to thin, narrow leaves and everything in between.
Most Hoya plants can be considered easy to care for. Here at Canopy Plant Co., we only ship the healthiest Hoyas from our Apopka greenhouse.

Such a cool plant. I've been wanting to add one to my collection of Hoyas. I think I will pot her with a wood plank so she can shingle. I've not tried that, so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you so much!

Very healthy & beautiful, expected more than 3 small vines for a 4 inch pot.
The plant I received is lovely and healthy. It has a few cuttings in one pot. It is still not well rooted, so I’m leaving it in its home for now. It’s a myrmecophyte and a shingling plant, so I hope to mount it on a natural wood surface to get the leaves to open and grow sort of domed/flat. I’m enjoying learning about the specific cultivation needs of this rare plant. Whether or not it ever flowers, the leaves are gorgeous!
