Monstera Esqueleto is a highly sought after species (epipremnoides) of the popular 'Swiss Cheese' indoor tropical plant.
This plant is very similar to Monstera adansonii, but with some key differences. Monstera Esqueleto leaves can grow up to 2-4' long and have many more fenestrations, while Monstera adansonii leaves only grow to about 8-12" long at maturity.
We highly recommend allowing your new Monstera plant to climb! We have coco poles, which are great for the job!
Monstera Esqueleto care:
This plant loves a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow your Monstera to dry out almost completely before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your new Monstera with plenty of bright indirect light for optimal growth.
Additional information:
Monstera, also referred to as "Swiss Cheese Plant", are a type of aroid native to many different countries in Latin America. Monstera can be found growing in its natural habitat in Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, etc.
In the wild, Monstera have a variety of growth habits. They can climb or spread as ground cover. If they are allowed to climb, Monstera leaves will become much larger and begin to fenestrate. They are semi-epiphytic.
Monstera can grow in low indirect light but prefer medium to bright indirect light. If grown in low light conditions their growth will slow.
They tend to be easy to care for and make a great addition to any houseplant collection.
