Philodendron squamiferum is a unique indoor tropical plant with fuzzy red bristles on its petioles! This is one of the species that is crossed with Philodendron pedatum to achieve the hybrid Philodendron 'Florida'.
As your Philodendron Squamiferum matures, the leaves will get larger! You may see the leaves grow up to 2-3' long inside of your home! This plant absolutely loves to climb, so make sure to provide it with a pole or other support structure so it can live its best life.
Philodendron squamiferum care:
Philodendron prefer a well draining soil rich in organic matter. Allow your plant to dry out about halfway between watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide it with bright indirect light.

Philodendron is one of the most popular genuses of Aroid that are currently in cultivation, with over 450 named cultivars.
Philodendron vary greatly in their natural habits, but you will find a large number of them located in Latin America. Their leaves range from small to medium to large to gigantic! You'll find Philodendron with smooth, glossy foliage and some with velvety foliage!
If you allow Philodendron to climb, their foliage will usually get much larger the higher up they get. While this isn't true for all Philodendron species -- it is for most. We recommend a coco pole to really get your Philodendron growing!
For the most part, Philodendron are easy to care for.

Arrived within a few days of putting my order in and when it arrived it was packaged extremely well! I've had it now for over a week and it's giving me a new leaf and has done wonderful with the rest of the plant friends it's with.

My hairy Philo came to me happy and healthy! I was in no rush to repot so waited two weeks before eventually repotting and he is already putting out new growth! I love getting my plants from here!
