$29.99

Care

 Bright indirect light

Allow soil to dry almost completely between watering

Monstera obliqua is very similar to Monstera adansonii, except that this species has large fenestrations and grows a bit slower.  This is the form found in areas of Peru.

We highly recommend allowing your Monstera obliqua to climb, so provide it with a coco pole or other support structure.  As it climbs higher, the leaves will become larger and the fenestrations greatly pronounced.

Monstera obliqua care:

This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter.  Allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water.  Monstera obliqua prefers higher than average humidity for optimal growth.  Provide your plant with plenty of bright indirect light.

Additional information:

Monstera, also referred to as "Swiss Cheese Plant", are a type of aroid native to many different countries in Latin America. Monstera can be found growing in its natural habitat in Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, etc.

In the wild, Monstera have a variety of growth habits. They can climb or spread as ground cover. If they are allowed to climb, Monstera leaves will become much larger and begin to fenestrate. They are semi-epiphytic.

Monstera can grow in low indirect light but prefer medium to bright indirect light. If grown in low light conditions their growth will slow.

They tend to be easy to care for and make a great addition to any houseplant collection.
