Philodendron rubrijuvenile 'El Choco' is highly sought after for its unique heart shaped velvety leaves. The underside of the leaves have a red tint to them. This plant can sometimes be confused with Philodendron verrucosum but it is indeed its own species.
We recommend providing a coco pole for your Philodendron. As it climbs higher,the leaves will grow larger!
Philodendron rubrijuvenile 'El Choco' care:
This Philodendron prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out about 3/4 of the way before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water. Provide your new Philodendron rubrijuvenile with plenty of bright indirect light and 50% or higher humidity.

Philodendron is one of the most popular genuses of Aroid that are currently in cultivation, with over 450 named cultivars.
Philodendron vary greatly in their natural habits, but you will find a large number of them located in Latin America. Their leaves range from small to medium to large to gigantic! You'll find Philodendron with smooth, glossy foliage and some with velvety foliage!
If you allow Philodendron to climb, their foliage will usually get much larger the higher up they get. While this isn't true for all Philodendron species -- it is for most. We recommend a coco pole to really get your Philodendron growing!
For the most part, Philodendron are easy to care for.
The name Philodendron comes from the greek words "philo" (love or affection) and "dendron" (tree).

The plant was slightly smaller than I expected. I would have loved to have received the plant the size of the Gloriousum. El Choco is the one next to the GLoriousum. I really liked that it had plenty of leaves. Cant wait to see the plant mature
